Texas A&M recently did a study in Austin, which over the years has become a more congested city. The study revealed that $121 billion is wasted in time and fuel annually by Americans.

That’s not including the 56 billion pounds of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere and the 2.9 billion gallons of gas wasted sitting in highway congestion.

The city with the worst traffic is Washington DC, with commuters adding three extra hours to their travel time. That's a lot compared to Pensacola, FL which had the least traffic. People in Pensacola only add nine minutes to their commute.
