The FBI have issued a warning to people to not be duped by con men using the “Grandparent Scam” which is when a con man calls or emails a grandparent and poses as their grandchild and says that they were arrested in another country and need money wired to them. Here are a few tips that were given on what to do to avoid being conned out of your money:

• Don’t act quickly and resist pressure to do so.
• Try to get hold of other people in your family to find out what is going on.
• Never wire money over the phone or email especially over seas.
